Pregabalin, a structural analogue of gamma-aminobutyric acid, acts as a ligand of α2δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the nervous system to reduce depolarization-induced calcium inflow and release of excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamine-chemicalceramide, norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin. Currently, it is widely used in the treatment of many diseases including neuropathic pain, generalized anxiety disorder, epilepsy and so on.Pregabalin is used for the treatment of peripheral neuralgia and adjuvant treatment of localized partial seizures.
